High voltage

2025-06-13 · campaign 2025-320

Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the electric drive motor software could cause the vehicle to enter a fail-safe mode. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem would cause a warning light to turn on and a warning message to be displayed. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electric drive motor software. Label

2024-08-15 · campaign 2024-544

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.

High voltage

2023-06-28 · campaign 2023-363 · 7 vehicles

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the combined charging unit (CCU) may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, power from the high-voltage battery could be interrupted while driving. If this happens, the vehicle could stall and lose power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage battery combined charging unit (CCU).

High voltage

2022-12-20 · campaign 2022-734

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the high-voltage battery electronic control unit to reset. As a result, the high-voltage system could disconnect while driving. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Note: If this happens, you may see a warning message on the instrument panel. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the high-voltage battery electronic control unit software.

Lights and instruments

2022-07-07 · campaign 2022-363

Issue: When using the valet parking mode, a software problem could cause certain warning messages not to appear on the central information display. If this happens, the driver would not be alerted about these specific problems with vehicle components and/or systems. Additionally, it may not be possible to adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster. Canadian regulations require warning lights or messages to display when certain faults are detected. The regulations also require an adjustment for the brightness of the instrument cluster.
