Electrical

2014-05-21 · campaign 2014-182

On certain vehicles, heat generated within the headlamp switch and/or daytime running light (DRL) module could melt the headlamp switch or DRL module and cause a fire, which may result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary replace the DRL module and the headlamp switch and install a relay in the headlamp circuit.

Lights and instruments

2012-08-13 · campaign 2012-274

On certain vehicles, the Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) module may fail, causing one or more of the following conditions: the DRLs may flicker but remain illuminated; the DRL indicator in the instrument panel may flash; the DRLs may remain illuminated after the vehicle is turned OFF; the DRLs may cease to function and the DRL indicator in the instrument panel will turn OFF. A loss of DRL illumination could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and pedestrians during daylight hours, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the DRL module, if the above condition exists, for a period of up to 10 years or 240,000 km from first vehicle registration.

Lights and instruments

2012-08-13 · campaign 2012-275

On certain vehicles, an instrument panel harness connector could melt, which may cause a loss of headlamp function. Loss of headlamp illumination, should it occur during a rainy/snowy day, or during hours of darkness, could compromise the driver’s ability to see the road and its users, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will remove the harness connector and permanently join the wires.

Lights and instruments

2007-09-28 · campaign 2007-315

Certain vehicles may experience a loss of headlamp low beam or Daytime Running Light (DRL) function as a result of a melted instrument panel harness connector. Low beam failure would lead to reduced visibility during hours of darkness. DRL failure may render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and pedestrians during daylight hours. Both cases could lead to a vehicle crash with injury or death. Correction: Dealers will add a direct connection splice clip to the headlamp low beam circuit in order to bypass the faulty connector.

Electrical

2005-11-26 · campaign 2005-021

On certain vehicles, the stop lamp switch may become misadjusted if an upward force is applied to the brake pedal. The stop lamp electrical contacts in a misadjusted stop lamp switch may not open when the brake pedal is at its natural rest position, resulting in the brake lights staying illuminated continuously without service brake pedal application. Correction: Dealers will replace the stop lamp switch.
