Risk and remedy
Risk: A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6. The information in your report suggests that Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) may have been aware of this issue more than five business days before filing a report with NHTSA. Issue:
On certain vehicles, water could leak into the rearview camera and cause the rearview camera image not to display correctly or at all.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rearview camera.
