Issue: On certain vehicles, the driveshaft may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, the driveshaft could wear and the universal joint could break. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the driveshaft.

Other

2022-05-20 · campaign 2022-263

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the SIM card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the eCall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the SOS button is pressed. Safety Risk: If the eCall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. Over-the-air fix

Electrical

2021-02-12 · campaign 2021-064

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the communications module may temporarily lose power during a crash. If this happens, the wrong vehicle location may be transmitted through the eCall system. This could cause emergency responders to be sent to the wrong location. Safety Risk: If the eCall system sends out the wrong location after a crash, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

Accessories

2021-02-01 · campaign 2021-041

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the head unit software.

Engine

2020-03-22 · campaign 2020-121 · 698 vehicles

Issue: On certain S 560 and Maybach S 560 models, the plugs used to close oil ports on the engine could fail. If this happens, oil can leak from the engine. If the engine oil level drops, a red warning message would display in the instrument cluster. If a driver continues to operate the vehicle, the engine could run out of oil and fail. Safety Risk: An oil leak on the road surface could become a hazard for other road users. An engine that fails would result in a sudden loss of engine power. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the closure plugs. You should avoid sudden acceleration and driving the vehicle at high engine speeds until the recall repairs are completed. If you detect any of the warnings listed, you should contact a dealership to have your vehicle inspected.

Airbag

2019-08-13 · campaign 2019-399 · 1 vehicles

Issue: The interior covers on the A-, B-, and C-pillars may not have been installed correctly. In a crash requiring the activation of the side curtain airbags, the pillar covers could detach. This could cause the curtain airbags not to open correctly. In addition, the pillar covers could be projected toward people in the vehicle. Safety Risk: In a crash where the side curtain airbags deploy, this could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify the owner by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the interior covers on the A-, B-, and C-pillars. The covers will be reinstalled correctly, if necessary.

Brakes

2019-07-23 · campaign 2019-357 · 755 vehicles

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the Driver Assistance Package, a software problem may cause the Active Brake Assist feature not to work properly. This could affect the feature’s ability to help reduce or avoid a crash. While the system will still provide audible and visual warnings, the autonomous braking might not occur. Safety Risk: If the brake assist system does not function properly, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the radar sensor control unit software.
