Questions
Where does the data come from?
Official US and Canadian government data: the VIN decoding rules, recalls, owner complaints, 5-star crash ratings and fuel economy. Recalls and complaints refresh daily. Sources and licences.
Does a recall mean my car still needs the repair?
Not necessarily. Recalls are issued for a make, model and year. Whether one specific car has already been repaired is known only to its manufacturer and dealers.
What does the free plan include?
300 vehicle lookups a month per Google account. Results are cached for 6 hours, so recalculating a formula doesn't use more of your quota.
I need more lookups. What are my options?
Connect your own key for the Vehicle Data API on RapidAPI in the add-on's sidebar. Calls then run on your RapidAPI plan instead of the free quota. For higher volumes, email hello@getcleanfeeds.com.
What can the add-on see in my Google account?
Only the cells you pass to its formulas. It never reads your other files, Gmail™ or Google Drive™.
The same data is available as the Vehicle Data API.
